Our History
Senter, Stephenson, Johnson PA has grown over the years. The original business, the Law Office of Jack E. Senter, was begun in 1953 on the second floor of the old Belk building in what was then Fuquay Springs. In 1965, Larry A. Stephenson (Jack's brother-in-law) joined the firm and it was renamed Senter & Stephenson, Attorneys at Law. Their office was located on Raleigh Street in the newly incorporated Fuquay-Varina. Linda F. Johnson joined Jack and Larry in 2001 and Senter, Stephenson, Johnson, PA was formed.

Linda Funke Johnson is the attorney sole shareholder of Senter, Stephenson, Johnson, PA. Her principal areas of practice are Estate Planning and Administration, Real Property Transactions, Guardianship and Taxation. Linda is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, Hawaii and Connecticut. She received her Specialization Designation from the NC State Bar in Estate Planning and Probate in 2007. Jack E. Senter grew up in Kipling, NC and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1940. He began college at Duke University until he was drafted for military service during World War II. He served in the Navy on the USS Andromeda and his ship was involved in the invasion of southern France, the Pacific theater and the invasion of Okinawa. He was discharged in 1946. After leaving the service, Jack attended Cattawba College. He graduated in 1950 and married Frances Cornelia Ashworth, who grew up in Fuquay Springs. They moved to Macon, Georgia and Jack attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, graduating in 1952. Read more... |

Larry A. Stephenson graduated from Fuquay-Springs High School in 1955. He attended UNC Chapel Hill and received a BS in Business Administration. While attending Chapel Hill, he was in the ROTC program and received the rank of Second Lieutenant Reserve, USAF. After completing his undergraduate studies, Larry earned his law degree at the Chapel Hill Law School. He was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. Upon graduation he entered the Air Force, serving at Sheppard Air Force Base in the J.A.G. Department. He served for three years and earned the rank of Captain. Read more... |

Elizabeth A. Zager is an associate attorney with Senter, Stephenson, Johnson, PA. Her principal areas of practice are Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Family Law. Elizabeth is licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina. She attended Campbell University's Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law where she served as the Coordinating Editor of the Campbell Law Review and the Treasurer of the Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity. Angela S. Weaver joined the firm in 1999, working in the field of Real Estate. She has over 18 years of experience in real estate closings. Angela obtained her NC Paralegal Certification in 2007. She has been married to Chris since 1984 and they have three children and two grandchildren. |

Evelyn Hawthorne joined the firm in 2003. She has a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii and received her CPA Certificate in 1999. Evelyn has worked as a tax specialist for over eighteen years and has wide experience in the areas of tax advisory and compliance, payroll, pension and 1099 reporting, estates, trusts, business entities and individual tax returns. E. Murney Rinholm has been with the firm since 2001, working in the field of Estate Administration & Guardianship. She obtained her Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan in 1991 with a major in English and minors in history and religious studies. She obtained her NC Paralegal Certification in 2007. Outside of the office, she is President of Chromosome 22 Central, Inc., a non-profit corporation for the benefit of children with Chromosome 22 disorders and has served as the NC Emergency Medical Services for Children Family Representative since 1998. She has been married to Brent for 24 years and they have two wonderful boys. |

Jessica B. Weaver has been with the firm since 2005 and assists in all areas of the practice, including Estate Administration, Guardianships, Corporations and Estate Planning. She received two Associates of Applied Science from Wake Technical Community College in 2008 in Legal Office Systems and Office Systems Technology. |
